Our events provide a platform for discussion, innovative ideas, original policy options and solutions.
Through our activities we are on an ambitious path towards "thinking Europe".
The conferences, seminars, launching events, workshops and other events give a further dimension to the research activities of the Centre for European Studies.

PRESENTATION OF THE FLAT-TAX REPORT
Following the publication of ‘A proposal for a socially conscious flat-rate tax in the Netherlands’, jointly produced by the Centre for European Studies (CES) and the Research Centre for the CDA, a series of promotional events was organised. The publication was officially presented in the capital of the Netherlands, The Hague, with the participation of the current and former Ministers of Finance, J. C. de Jager and M. Van Rooijen, who offered their views on the subject.
On behalf of the team of experts that had prepared the proposal, W. F. C. Stevens, member of the board of the Research Institute for the CDA, presented the study and arguments in favour of the flat-rate taxation.
A symposium on the flat-rate tax was also organised in Utrecht with the participation of various stakeholders: from Dutch senators and representatives of provinces to CDA members and students, academics and youth leaders. The proposal was presented by CDA Director and CES Board member Reymond H. J. M. Gradus.
